NPCS
Jump to Bestiary
The Dark Figure
Nothing much is yet known about the Dark Figure. He has been seen standing by the central fountain, and has not yet taken any active interest in characters. If attacked, he takes the blow without being damaged, and turns to look at his attacker with bland curiosity.
Polyskieroi
Occasionally posts on the network under the username "many-shadowed", referring to player characters as "Tourists."
BESTIARY
Jump to NPCs
When a creature is marked as ACTIVE, it means that the monster is currently active in the Fog and Nightmare Worlds and will try to kill your character. If it is marked as INACTIVE, your character will not come across it in the Fog or Nightmare Worlds.
Manifestations
Each character has their own personal monster, which represents the character's fears, guilt, trauma, repressed issues, etc. Players create their character's Manifestation as part of the application process, and from then on it is an NPC that each player controls, subject to certain rules. Please see full details on Manifestations in the FAQ.
ACTIVE
Monster Dogs
Savage mutant dogs which will attempt to maul any player characters they can catch. During the Fog World, monster dogs move slowly and are easily outpaced even at a fast walk. They are only a real threat if enough of them manage to swarm you. In the Nightmare World, monster dogs with at the speed and viciousness of a real-world attack dog. A few hard blows will render the dogs unconscious, though they will recover after several minutes. They can be killed by being dismembered, in which case the pieces will lie where they were left until the world resets or another monster eats them.
ACTIVE
Handmaidens
These androgynous veiled creatures seem to assist the Dark Figure.
